Smiths Group plc has announced that as a part of the restructuring of its Group headquarters the function of General Counsel and Company Secretary has ceased to be a Board appointment. Mr. David Lillycrop has therefore tendered his resignation as a director with immediate effect.  Discussions are continuing with Mr Lillycrop in respect to an orderly transfer of his responsibilities ahead of his departure from his employment with the Group.

Chief Executive, Philip Bowman, commented “David has made a significant contribution to the business over many years and the Board recognises the valuable service he has provided. We wish him well in the future.”
