Today is International Women in Engineering Day, a global call to action to encourage the next generation of female engineers. At Smiths, we’re celebrating by spotlighting some of our own talented female engineers. We’re, highlighting their diverse journeys into the varied and creative field of engineering, and their different perspectives on what being an engineer means to them.

Visit the dedicated page on our website to read their stories. The page also includes a video of three of our engineers discussing the impact women can have in engineering and why it’s so important that we encourage more to join the sector.

We have many talented female engineers here at Smiths but we need more. We hope to encourage more young women to pursue careers in engineering and technology through our internship and apprenticeship programmes, STEM volunteer days and women’s networks.

We believe a diverse and inclusive team will come up with the best, most innovative solutions from their wide range of perspectives, ideas and engineering creativity. We need more women to help us solve the world’s challenges and create the future.
