SMITHS Aerospace, part of the global engineering business Smiths Group, today announces the opening of its new turbine engine components facility in West Jefferson, North Carolina.
The new facility represents a $44 million investment by Smiths and expands its workforce in North Carolina to nearly 400, with the opportunity to double its sales within five years. Currently, the West Jefferson facility employs 60 people.
Smiths already has a leading aerospace engine components business in Asheville, North Carolina with 300 employees.

Smiths Aerospace Components-West Jefferson is a state-of-the-art 128,000 square foot manufacturing facility focused on the machining of precision rotating engine components. It continues the tradition of manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction established by Smiths over the last 35 years.
