Smiths announces global, all employee share award as part of 175 year celebrations

Smiths, a leading industrial engineering company, today announces a special one-off share award for employees worldwide, giving colleagues a personal stake in the company and the opportunity to share in its future success. Every permanent employee will receive an award of Smiths shares worth up to £400.

As Smiths marks its 175th anniversary and enters its next phase of growth, the award recognises the commitment and contribution of employees globally and strengthens a shared sense of ownership.

It will give all of Smiths 10,000+ employees all over the world the opportunity to own a personal stake in Smiths and benefit from the company’s future success, as a focused industrial engineering company specialising in flow control and thermal solutions.

The award will be given to all full-time and part-time employees globally who are employed by Smiths on 30^th October 2026. The award will vest after two years, provided the employee remains employed by Smiths until November 2028, meaning that employees are able to share in the future growth of Smiths.

In countries where local laws or tax rules mean that shares cannot be granted, employees will instead receive an equivalent cash-based award. Employees receiving a cash-based award will receive the same value as if they had held the equivalent share award.
