Smiths Group plc ("Smiths Group") announces today that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 37.5 pence each on the London Stock Exchange from Goldman Sachs International. Such purchase was effected pursuant to instructions issued by Smiths Group on 18 November 2021, as announced on 19 November 2021:

Smiths Group will cancel the purchased shares.

Following the cancellation of the repurchased shares, Smiths Group will hold no ordinary shares in treasury and will have 396,378,930 ordinary shares in issue. Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Smiths Group will be 396,378,930. This is the figure which should be used by shareholders as the denominator when determining whether they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Smiths Group, under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
