Mario Gonzalez from Flexible Technologies, part of our Flex-Tek business, shares what it means to him to see his nominated charity, Hope Ignites Phoenix, selected for Smiths Foundation funding.
Based in the United States, Hope Ignites Phoenix supports youth across Arizona through education, guidance and life skills development.
Reflecting on the impact of the charity, Mario said: “Hope Ignites Phoenix brought education, guidance, life skills and much more to me as a young adult.
“The selection of this charity fills my heart with gratitude and happiness, knowing that others too will now greatly benefit from this!
“Hope Ignites Phoenix is bettering the world by preparing the leaders of tomorrow one individual at a time.”
The Smiths Foundation awards grants to charitable organisations nominated by Smiths employees, supporting causes that align with our purpose of engineering a better future.
Since its launch in 2023, the Foundation has awarded approximately £3 million in funding to 32 charities across 16 countries.
