Winner's story: Shruthi Nataraj
Shruthi shared a story about the importance of taking time to listen and support others at work. In her entry, she highlights how even a simple conversation can make a big difference.
One day, an employee walked up to me and said,
“Ma’am, thank you… no one had explained this to me before.”
It wasn’t a big project or a major milestone. It was a simple conversation taking time to explain something clearly, to listen, and to make sure things felt fair. But that moment stayed with me.
Because a lot of what we do doesn’t get noticed immediately. There are no announcements for resolving confusion, no recognition for quiet support, and no spotlight on everyday problem-solving. Yet, these are the moments that shape how people experience their workplace.
Over time, I’ve handled many situations some structured, some uncertain. Not everything has been smooth, and not everything has gone as planned. But what I’ve learned is that impact often comes from the smallest actions I.e being consistent, being available, and doing the right thing even when it’s not visible.
For me, that’s what my journey here has been about.
Not just the work we do but the difference we make, one interaction at a time.
What I’ve learned is that impact often comes from the smallest actions.
I am grateful for the continuous support and confidence placed in me, which has helped me grow professionally and contribute meaningfully.
