Smiths Medical wins three new contracts totalling $18 million

SMITHS Group, the global technology company, today announced three new contracts for its Medical division with a combined value of $18 million. These contracts expand the growth opportunities for Smiths Medical in the United States and comprise:

• A contract with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems to provide a host of anaesthesia products including breathing and patient monitoring equipment for MedAssets’ 125 health care providers.
• A three-year contract with major US group purchasing organisation Amerinet to provide products that help to alleviate patients’ breathing difficulties.  The deal also gives Smiths Medical access to Amerinet’s 25,000 health care providers.
• A three-year contract with major US distributor Cardinal to co-brand its medical products.  The deal will allow Cardinal to feature its logo on Smiths Medical products, highlighting the strength of its suite of brands.

Srini Seshadri, Group Managing Director of Smiths Medical, said: “These wins reflect the work being done to build and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and group purchasing organisations in the United States. These contracts also give us access to thousands of health care systems and expand our growth opportunities throughout the country.”
