My career at Smiths Detection began just over 10 years ago in a remote, two-man office in Cairns, Australia – where I was employed as a Field Service Engineer. I enjoyed four years in a variety of roles at Cairns, where I gained a great bottom-up understanding and appreciation of Smiths Detection, its service and values.
In 2012 I was promoted to National Service Manager for Australia, and in 2015 I took on responsibility for the region, first as Service Head of Mature Markets for Asia Pacific and six months later as Service Director, Asia Pacific.
In January 2018 I moved to Singapore to take up an exciting new role as Commercial and Digital Director for the Global Service function. Global Service is about giving our customers access to the most advanced technology solutions, 24/7/365 support, and extended coverage to give the most reliable service programme anywhere in the world. In short, it's about enhancing our brand reputation by delivering the level of service our customers deserve.
The chance to work for a leading-edge, world-renowned engineering company attracted me to Smiths. The company is unique for many reasons, but what has stood out for me is the continued investment and commitment to develop its people and build a safety culture – everyone deserves the right to leave work in at least as good a condition as they arrived.
