What does your schedule look like as an apprentice?

I am out in the field working with the engineers four days of the week and I attend college on Fridays to gain my qualification.

What is it like to be an apprentice at Smiths Detection?

It’s a great experience. I am really enjoying now being out in the field and expanding my knowledge and getting hands on with Smiths equipment. I had enjoyed my time working at Smiths Detection previously and I look forward to working here as a Field Service Engineer when I finish my apprenticeship.

What do you like the most about your role at Smiths Detection?

Everyone has always been nice to me and there are loads of opportunities to get involved with exciting work. The team I am member of is great. They always take the time to answer all of my many questions and I really enjoy learning all of their various methods.

What are the top five advantages of being an apprentice at Smiths?

  • It’s an exciting journey.

What advice would you give to people thinking about becoming an apprentice?

Definitely do it! Enjoy your learning!
